Shipping and Receiving / Maintenance Tech
Contract: 6 month duration- could lead to contract to hire.
Hourly Pay Rate: $14.00 an hour
Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6 AM – 4 PM and Friday 6 AM – 10 AM
100% Onsite- Savannah, GA..
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a versatile and skilled individual to perform a combination of shipping and receiving duties and basic maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities by managing incoming and outgoing shipments and performing basic maintenance tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming shipments, including verifying contents, comparing purchase orders to packing lists, and inspecting packages for damage
- Prepare shipments for outgoing delivery, including packing, labeling, and arranging for carrier pickup
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including tracking information, delivery dates, and order numbers
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve any shipment issues or discrepancies
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, painting, and minor repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards
- Assist with inventory control, including performing cycle counts and reconciling inventory discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or related field
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks, such as painting, light bulb changes, and minor repairs
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier options, and customs requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with shipping software, such as UPS WorldShip or FedEx Ship Manager
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test if required
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
