Custodian needed in Savannah, GA. Entry-level candidates accepted. This is a long-term, temporary contract opportunity through Focus People with our client in the educational industry.
Pay Rate: $11.92 an hour
Monday – Friday| 1st Shift 6am – 3pm
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a reliable and experienced custodian to maintain the cleanliness and organization of their facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the campus are clean, safe, and presentable for our employees and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Empty and clean trash cans
- Dust and wipe down surfaces
- Clean windows and mirrors
- Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and report when supplies are low
- Report any damages or maintenance needs to supervisor
- Set up and tear down event spaces
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a custodian or janitor
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 pounds)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to undergo a background check
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, climb, balance, and grasp
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers
