Why Choose Contract-to-Hire?

Over the past several weeks, we talked about the various services Focus offers. This includes direct hire, contract and contract-to-hire. If you would like to learn more about direct hire, please click here. If you would like to learn more about contract staffing, please click here. Today we are going to cover the last part of our mini-series by breaking down contract-to-hire.

What is contract-to-hire?

Contract-to-hire is a short-term position where both the client and contract employee can test out the role before committing to a full-time position. These agreements are for a predetermined amount of time. At the end of the trial run, the client can decide if they would like to hire the contract employee as a full-time employee with benefits. While working with Focus, this means we will search, screen and interview candidates. Once the client chooses a candidate to extend an offer to, Focus then works with the contract employee for onboarding. Once the trial period ends, if a full-time offer is extended then duties are transferred from Focus to the client. This means they come off Focus payroll and benefits program and onto the clients.

What makes contract-to-hire different?

1. Trial Run for Both Sides

Hiring a full-time employee is a big commitment so if the client is looking to test out the waters on an employee, contract-to-hire is the right choice. This allows both the contract employee and the client to see if each is a good fit. The contract employee can test out the role, while the client can test out the contract employee to see if they live up to their resume, and are the right choice for the overall company.

2. Budget Friendly

If the client is working with a strict budget, contract-to-hire is the right choice because this can offer a monetary advantage to the client. These positions allow additional time for the client to fit the full-time employee into their budget. While the contract employee is working on their assignment, they will receive benefits through Focus which is less money out of the client’s pocket.

3. Accommodate Growth

As much as we would like to predict what the future holds, that is not a possibility. Sometimes there is unexpected growth and the client needs to accommodate their staffing needs quickly. During this situation, it is beneficial to use contract-to-hire staffing to temporarily staff a certain project or need and then determine if the contract employee should be brought on full-time. This way clients can scale their business to fill immediate gaps and determine if they need to continue with these positions or scale back down.

Regardless of where a business stands, at Focus, we are here to help companies find which service will work for them whether that is direct hire, contract and contract-to-hire. If we can help you fulfill these needs, please reach out to us at (770) 937-0410.
